Arrabiata Sauce

- 5 ml olive oil
- 160 g chopped onion
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 90 ml red wine
- 10 g white sugar
- 3 g chopped fresh basil
- 3 g crushed red pepper flakes
- 30 g tomato paste
- 15 ml lemon juice
- 0.8 g Italian seasoning
- 0.5 g ground black pepper
- 2 cans peeled and diced tomatoes
- 8 g chopped fresh parsley
Method
- Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic in oil for 5 minutes.
- Stir in wine, sugar, basil, red pepper, tomato paste, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, black pepper and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer uncovered about 15 minutes.
- Stir in parsley. Ladle over the hot cooked pasta of your choice.
